Respect to a religion – Islamic Insurance Road Show in Leicester
“For the first time in the UK prominent banking and insurance institutions offering Islamic financial services have launched a road show in the Midlands, showcasing halal insurance and banking operations which comply with the sharia. Leading the road show in Leicester, and later, Birmingham, was Salaam Halal insurance, the country’s first insurance company which complies with the principles of Islam.
Abid Shakeel, strategic development director of Salaam, said: “The purpose of the road show is to popularise the concept that if you want to take out insurance you need not necessarily have to pay interest and be bound to financial uncertainties. It is not just for Muslims, but non-Muslims too.”
